Outside of the town heart, to the north, the stylish Renaissance Raleigh North Hills Hotel is a fine choice, whereas in the close by town of Cary, the swanky and fairly gay-friendly Umstead Hotel and Spa is probably the most luxurious lodging in higher Raleigh.
